training for lighting and hosting

party people!

if you are interested in hosting or lighting, but are unsure of how to do one or both, the scheduling committee (andrea, dave, me and rachel) will be offering training on hosting and lighting in december and january.

with lighting, we will work on understanding the lightboard and lighting for both johnstonian and close-style shows to maximum FX.

for hosting, we will work on developing your individual hosting style, an outline of topics to cover (i.e., at the conclusion of every show, we plug the other shows, classes, thanks for supporting the explosion of austin improv, etc.), building and sustaining audience energy for the troupes during the show and working the audience.

from my experience, hosting is an awesome way to round out your improv repetoire and builds confidence with repetition.

get on it!

and for those that have hosted,
