hi, i'm tyler. i just moved here from los angeles. i'm now a full time student at ACC, planning to graduate in photojournalism from UT. austin is a very awesome town, but i must confess i'm not used to the extreme heat and allergens that are now ruling my life.

i'm a graduate of the Second City conservatory and the Upright Citizens Brigade, and i've takin many classes at ioWest. At Second City i was on the SoireeTuesday night house team American Standard. With American Standard we also played many stages in the LA area and the 2 years in the Los Angeles Improv Festival. My touring group MeatCandy just recently played 4 shows at the House of Rock in Corpus Christi. this past winter i taught an improv workshop for middle schoolers at the Singpaore American School in Singapore.

well that's about enough tooting my own horn. I just wanted to introduce myself to the community here. I'm currently taking Andy's level 1 improv class at the HideoutTheatre and really loving reworking the basics.

I'm looking for any group openings or awesome drop-in classes to take. I love doing Long Form improv more than anything.

i look forward to hearing from you all,
_tyler

Welcome! We like Austin as well but do have difficulties with the heat and allergens so it's not just you. Those of us who've been here for years have difficulties with them as well. We stay because it's Austin!

Well Tyler I would say you can get used to the heat, but I think you need to be born in it. You would not believe the amount of people I get into discussions with that try to convince me their city/state is hotter, because of the "Humidity" I laugh and tell them they will truly understand once they experience it.

Welcome to Texas, and Austin is a superb city. Probably the worst traffic in Texas, but not as bad as L.A.

Bueno Suerte!

Hey Tyler, I grew up in Arizona and am pretty well heat adapted - but this summer has been unusually brutal. Also, the first year I was here allergies laid me out - but that's improved over the last 5 or so years.

When they get really bad go get the stuff they sell behind the counter. Advil Allergy/Sinus or whatever it's called. Sometimes that pseudoephedrine is the only thing that will blow your head open.

I, too, am a former Californian (LA, San Diego). I don't miss living in God's ashtray one bit - Austin is extremely hospitable. Welcome!

I'm sorry we didn't really get a chance to play together in the last Maestro. Hopefully next time we'll get to have a three or fewer person scene!
