Alamo Public Access - call for submissions

Post by ChrisTrew.Com »

A new Sketch Comedy show is hitting the Alamo Drafthouse - Alamo Public Access - and we need your submissions. The show is booked like a standup show with openers, feature acts and a headliner. The features and headliner will be pulled from the previous months best openers. For our first show we'll be featuring Studio8.net and comedy from the Upright Citizens Brigade. Direct me to your submissions online and I'll let you know if we need a DVD! I'll also entertain live aspects to the sketches, keep that in mind!

The show is Wednesday September 23rd.

brought to you by The New Movement

*The Alamo guide will say "Austin" Public Access but you should ignore that

The sooner the better!
I'll probably lock the show up as soon as I get what I need.

BUT you can also bring it the night of the show because we are playing random stuff that night as well.

From The Onion A.V. Club:

Having served many years as an improv educator with The New Movement (and formerly with ColdTowne) and as a judge for the Alamo's Air Sex and The A.V. Club's Fame Whores competitions, Chris Trew knows his funny from his puerile crap. Even better, he knows that sometimes you have to allow a little puerile crap to make the funny even better, so look for both to play a part in the new Alamo Public Access series. It revives the old "open screen" conceit by asking audience members to bring in random videos and compete for prizes, but it also maintains quality control through Trew's curated clips from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, Funny or Die, and local comedy troupes.
