Help with a new meetup group

Post by GeeMahn »

Heya,

I'm starting a new Meetup group, the Austin Live Comedy Connoisseurs, and pretty soon, I won't have to look up how to spell that damn word anymore. The idea is, go to shows with random webizens instead of going alone when my friend doesn't want to. :( Most places don't let my dog in anyway.

I'm an L2 student at ColdTowne and a retired intern there, so I'm pretty familiar with the players and shows. I'm nowhere near as familiar with Hideout, Salvage Vanguard, New Movement, or ComedySportz, and especially, the venues I don't know about. And then there are the standup venues and performers. Can anyone recommend a guide or two who can help me select shows to feature on a given weekend? Ideally, I'd like to talk to someone at these venues about a group rate, too.

Cheers,
Greg

If you sign up for the AIC mailing list you will get a weekly newsletter of that week's improv activities. Just PM me about that if you are interested.
