Austin Chronicle luminary, Huey Lewis connoisseur, and Friend of the Improv Greg Beets is this Saturday's Stool Pigeon at Coldtowne Theater. He is fun and funny, and this show will rock.

Greg Beets was born in Lubbock, Texas on the day Richard Nixon was elected president. He grew up blonde in Dallas and Houston before coming to Austin for school in 1987. After graduating, he hung around to sing for bands like the Peenbeets (1993-2002), the Ron Titter Band (2005-present) and Huey Lewis tribute the New Drugs (2007-present). Greg began covering the Austin music scene as a freelance writer in 1992 and published a fanzine about all-you-can-eat buffets called Hey! Hey! Buffet! (1993-1999) with co-conspirator Buzz Moran. During waking hours, he works to prevent the spread of social diseases for The Great State of Texas. Now at age 40, Greg is resolute about not buying a Harley in a desperate attempt to recapture his lost youth, but he’s open to a gently used Vespa.
