Your favorite evil improvisers are planning a camping trip and YOU are invited! The tentative date for this camping extravaganza is the weekend of June 30th. I'm posting this here now so that we can hammer out the details of when and where and whatnot. I was thinking of having the campout at Paleface/Pace Bend park. They got cliffs fer jumpin' off of out there! So, mark your calendars now and come on out and join the evilness! We'll have tons of food and booze, now all we need is you!

Improv For Evil will personally guarantee your comfort and safety on this excursion deep into the forest, where nobody can hear you screaming for mercy. This is absolutely not a thinly-veiled plot to eliminate our competition, and if there are no plans to use your bodies afterwards to construct a giant cyborg with eye lasers which will rain fire and horror upon strategic targets across this great land of ours.
Plus, s'mores!

I thought I replied to this.
I've never been camping in Texas...in the dead of Summer. I bet it's a wonderful, sweaty adventure. Woo!

The spot I have in mind is right on the lake and you can walk out of your tent and take a flying leap right off the cliff straight into the water.
Drink...Sweat...Rinse...Repeat!

FYI, though we've had lots of rain, the lake is still "low".
Also, you can count me out as I have sworn off camping since the LAST trip -- the trip IN HELL. It was labor day weekend and HOT HOT HOT. I went to Pace Bend with a bunch of my sister's friends. I arrived late as I was working that weekend and ended up setting my tent up in the dark. By the time my tent was up and I was trying to get to sleep, the rest of the group was sound asleep and snoring BIG TIME! I didn't get to sleep until late late late.
I awoke late the next mornig to find my tent covered in fire ants. Apparently I had put up my tent on top of their mound, and the heat of the morning sun had mobilized them. That first day it got so hot that no one wanted to move around. None of the 15 gallon ice chests could keep any ice so we were constantly making runs to the nearest grocery store to load up on ice. I volunteered to tag along to sit in the AC while in the car and then stood in the frozen food section as long as I could.
Finally someone suggested we go for a swim. It was normally a short walk to the water, but the lake was so low, we had to scramble down over these boulders covered in stinky, slimey, weeds that had been baked in the sun. When we got into the water, it was HOT and with NO BREEZE, the stench from the shore just hung around us. Blech!
With the heat, none of the cold stuff was staying cool. But there was also a major fire ban, so we couldn't cook anything. Yet some idiot lit a fire in the neighboring site and the firetrucks had to come in and save us from a pretty scary grass fire.
After that I left. One day in camping HELL is all I needed to convince me that, in Texas, early spring is the ONLY time of year I'd ever attempt to go camping again.

Ok, so this camping trip thing is not going to happen. However, Chris Allen and I are moving into a badass house on July 1st and plan to have a house warming party soon after. So, lets turn this campout into a house/POOL party instead. Stay tuned...details coming soon.
