Almost every local flier made has an image "jacked" from somewhere. Unless you're putting it on a t-shirt or something, I don't think it's a big deal.

Unless you're selling the poster, its not. He who borrows from the most sources, wins.

i know artists/photographers that get really jacked when people steal their stuff off the web, its just easier not to use it. either way we will have something stupid to color at the show for people to potentially win delicous cookies.

When I took Design Practices in college, we debated this a lot. You guys did the right thing by redrawing the image for coloring. That's pretty legit considering you didn't recreate it exactly as it was. The poster might be a different story. I don't think Threadless would care too much nor would they respond in a timely manner if you asked permission. How many times has the Scarface photo made it onto band posters without anyone caring. No biggie.

Go see the show regardless! Enough beating of this poor dead horse.
