Workshop taught by Second City Alum Martin Garcia
Martin Garcia will be teaching a workshop on turning improvisation into scenes for the purposes of performing a written show. He calls this workshop Ezekial just because he thinks that's a cool name. It will take place 1/4 from 12pm-3pm. Martin is a native Austinite and figured while he was here for the holidays it might be fun to work with some of the improvisers in the area. Martin Garcia is an alum of the Second City. He wrote a total of 6 shows at the 2 theatres in Chicago. He wrote and performed in Revelation Will Not Be Televised, History Repaints Itself and Better Late than Nader at the Second City ETC. Martin received Jeff nominations for Best Actor in a Review for Revelation and History. He then moved on to the Second City Mainstage where he wrote and performed in Embryos on Ice or Fetus Don't Fail Me Now, Thank Heaven It Wasn't 7/11, and No, Seriously, We're All Going to Die. He also wrote and performed a show for the Second City Las Vegas in the Flamingo Hotel. The cost for the workshop is $20/person. Looking forward to working with you.[/b] By the way it's at Coldtowne so contact them about registering. Thanks.
Hey y'all!
Martin's a good friend a super funny guy.
He wrote lots of classic Second City scenes that are still touring in the "Best Of" shows
If you are writing a sketch show any time soon or planning on writing one or performing in one or both... this class will totally give you a leg up.
I'm totally taking it.
plus it's a super sweet bargain!

If you disrespect your character, or play it just for laughs, it will sell some gags, but it's all technique.
