Is this not as simple as buying a green sheet and lighting it properly?

It's not always green though. They paint it according to their needs. When I was there about two weeks ago it was black or white. Of course, maybe they've painted it back since then.

It can be.

Also, the sheet does not have to be green. You just need to make sure it's not a color that's on your body or clothes.

It's actually called a "chroma key wall" or "chroma key backdrop." There, I've put some of my education to use.

If you use a blue screen, then my eyes will disappear.

I've worked with both green and blue. Reflective chroma green paint is the best... mixes with skin tones better than blue... catches maximum light and doesn't have many shadows which will mean an easier time of keying out the green. Got to light it well, too, tho.

You're lucky. If you use brown screen not only do my eyes disappear but my face, hands and other exposed skin.
