Nominations for the 11th Annual AUSTIN UNDER 40 Awards are currently being accepted at www.austinunder40.org. Austin Under 40 honors local individuals younger than 40 who consistently demonstrate professional excellence as well as leadership, commitment, and service to the community.

I'm responsible for the Arts and Entertainment category and would love The Hideout Theatre to partner with us by nominating people for this award. I'd be happy to answer any questions and guide you through the process.

What are the categories?

* Arts / Entertainment
* Business / Entrepreneurship
* Community Service
* Financial Services
* Government / Public Affairs
* Legal
* Medical / Health Care
* Real Estate
* Technology / Sciences
* Youth / Education

Who can nominate someone?
Anyone can make the nomination (even the nominee if that's easiest).

Where is the nomination form?
Go to www.austingunder40.org and click 2009 Nominations to get to the online form.

What's required?
The online form asks for basic contact information and answers to three questions (the combined responses should not exceed 1200 words).

1. Describe the Nominee's professional accomplishments and/or achievements and how this has affected his/her field of work.
2. Expand upon the Nominee's community involvement, including board, committee, and/or group activities.
3. Describe the Nominee's qualities that make him/her worthy of acknowledgment.

What's optional?
The following optional items can be uploaded with the nomination or emailed to nominations@austinunder40.org:

* One resume
* One letter of recommendation
* One press release or published news story regarding the Nominee and his/her contributions to the Austin community

The nomination packet (pdf) has detailed advice about making a nomination. It can be downloaded at http://www.austinunder40.org/au40/index ... minations/ or I can email it to you if you don't mind getting attachments.
