I WAS THERE!

Post by DollarBill »

A guy from the campaign asked us if we wanted to hold a flag. My friend responded "Yes" before I knew what was happening and so he got to keep it (LUCKY!!!), but we all got to wave it proudly!

Actually that might be the flag that was in front of us... but that's basically where we were... I'm pretty sure thats us. Sweet.

At the election party I was at I was like - "I know someone who is there right now." And they were like - "wow!"

Thanks for the cool points.

Me three! And I had to be at the Republican watch party covering Cornyn and McCaul.

I had to remain pretty much emotionless on the outside until I left.

Ha, ha...left...

They weren't smiling. One guy said something about how could they put a check mark next to a state for Obama when only 1% was reporting...but never mentioned the same when this applied to a state that had been checked next to McCain.

What was funny to me was when Mcaul and Cornyn addressed the crowd. People out in the hall were talking and McCaul said something about people needing to be quiet. Then Perry (not Steve) got up and played firecracker boom-boom cheerleader and praised Texans and its values as reflected inthe Republican wins. Give. Me. A. Break.

How does it feel waving an American flag NOW? It feels good again, doesn't it! Yeah!

It's funny that you said that. Melissa was just remarking to me that she never REALLY felt patriotic until last night. Pretty freakin' sweet.

I am sure a lot of people felt/feel that same shift. Thanks for sharing Bill!

I seem to remember Michelle Obama saying something related not so long ago and getting hammered in the press.

For those of us who came of age with an unpopular president during an unpopular war (Nixon/Vietnam). This situation feels remarkably familiar.

Here's hoping Obama proves more effective than Carter, but in the meantime, I'm pretty proud of America right now.

I might even be able to sing that Lee Greenwood song tonight without clenching my teeth.

Wow, don't tell anyone on the Cougar message boards that I was at an Obama rally. I'll never get any car advice again. There's a thread over there about how the country is now doomed because of the wave of socialism that will be creeping across the land. Honestly I'll just be happy to hear the word "nuclear" pronounced correctly in presidential speeches.

Yeah, I turned on some sports radio in my car earlier today and caller after caller started bitching about how the country was going to Hell or some other nonsense. I've never been that frustrated and in disbelief when trying to listen to Mavs coverage.
