The credit card machine in The Hideout box office is not currently working, due to issues with the card processing vendor we are using. We are working on moving to a new, more reliable vendor and hope to have it taken care of within the next week. Until then, no credit cards for shows at The Hideout.

Do you mean no credit cards at all for The Hideout or no credit cards can be used on-site because the credit card machine is out of service?
People can still buy credit cards online, right? If so, a laptop should be available downstairs at the box office for people with credit cards to buy their tickets online there on-site if they wish.
I can bring my work laptop in for this Friday's shows if necessary.

Right. Online payments will work. It's the actual hardware that's not working. The credit card terminal in the box office isn't working properly due to reasons that I will skewer Heartland Payment Systems for.

That's what I thought. I'll bring a laptop with me on Friday for those shows since I'll be there anyway, but someone else should have one ready for Saturday's shows.

We used a personal laptop in the box office last Saturday and ran into some privacy issues.

I figured that might happen with some people feeling uncomfortable with it, but you just have to reinforce the idea that the computer won't save the information. It's better to provide the option for them to choose not to do than not provide it at all.

The other option being good ol' fashioned green-backs.

Absolutely. Cash is preferable. I'm one of those people who pays with stuff more with my debit card than any other way though, so I know I'd appreciate the credit card option.

does the hideout have one of those old-fashioned manual imprint machines? With the carbon paper? then you could somehow call or enter the payments manually.

No. The Hideout has a first generation electronic credit card machine. AKA - one step above the manual imprint.

There's a chance I'll get it working tonight. I bitched out the company and they're going to try to fix it for us.

I meant in addition to. I'm pretty sure we used to have one around as a backup.
