by deroosisonfire
At the last general body meeting we decided we wanted to have the agenda and all the items that would be voted on posted 1 week in advance so that people could come to the meetings prepared. It is about 1.5 weeks until the next meeting, so it's time to get the ball rolling on that stuff.

Post your agenda items!
Post your voting items!

Do those things you promised you would do before the next meeting!

I would like us to talk about and possibly set a policy for what happens when outside paid/private gigs come in to the AIC. Who gets to hear about it, who gets to submit, who gets a cut, etc.

I second Shana's suggestion, that is something of interest to me as well.

Also, I'd like to request 10-15 minutes to discuss plans for some possible other venues (one that I have in the works) and if the AIC would be interested in being represented AROUND TOWN, or if finding and using other venues should be more of just a troupe-oriented thing, with the AIC remaining solely at the Hideout.

One other agenda item I'd like to discuss (because I do not know how fairly represented this was at the last meeting...) would be the possibility of an AIC fundraising event to happen in the next 5-6 months.

That's all for me.

Summer Camp:We should have brochures done by then.... Maybe? Maybe not because Jastroch is on the road? I dunno. But I won't be there, I'll be in Chicago. Christina, we should pick a time to meet with all the teachers/interested parties and announce it. I don't think there's much more news on that front.

Summer awards banquet: Is in the preliminary stages of planning. I'm thinking something fun and informal, like grilling in the park. I believe, Tami, Rachel, and Kaci have expressed interest in helping put this together. So we'll get together when everyone gets back together.

Brochures are out to print as of today. I don't know if they will arrive by then, but certainly by May 1st or so... I had them shipped to the Hideout.

I would have had them done last week, but scrambling to get the Hurricane show up on its feet set me back.

Yes. ColdTowne will still be in Chicago on the 30th, but we have some announcement type stuff about this.

I feel like a nerd for missing improv meetings. Seriously.

I've been researching how other groups run their meetings efficiently, such as voting and committees and such. I'm supposed to bring all that stuff to this next meeting to discuss. You down?

Could we put some time on the agenda to discuss the AIC's purpose and function? It looks like we're light on other issues this month and we could probably benefit from a bit of reflection on what we want as improvisers and troupes and how co-operation can help us achieve those things.

What do you want as an improviser? More stage time? More workshop opportunities? Health insurance? How can improv and this community help you do the things you want to do in your life?

What do you want as a troupe? How well are the shows we offer right now meeting your needs? How can the community help you market your troupe?

What does improv in Austin need? How can we continue to grow audiences? How can we elevate the level of play so that those audiences keep coming back?

Could we also get the Whirled News gang to share their experiences thus far. It seems like there's lots of cool stuff going on with Whirled News that we could learn from.
