Well, well, well. I just came from a little online blog called The Austinist. And my expert sleuthing has lead me to believe that someone among us has taken an extremely clever pen name: "George." Though I am no stranger to posting anonymous positive comments about myself online, I am also quite nosy, and therefore I must know...WHO IS GEORGE???
Naturally, I first suspected George many months back, after his Pollyanna post about the Hoover's Blanket Best of the Week Fronterafest show. While the Austinist blogged about the growing improv community and my poor impression of Ethel Merman singing the rules of Fight Club, George had this to say:
"From your descriptions of the shows on Saturday, it sounds like there wasn't actually any improv that night. Improv is made up on the spot, and it sounds like the night consisted of scripted work. Week 3 did have some improv, in the form of Girls! Girls! Girls!, but they didn't make it to best of week.
If you wanna start your investigative journalism into just why you're seeing so many improv troupes cropping up these days, hop on over to http://forum.austinimprov.com and say hello."
Hmmm... I don't seem to recall any Georges posting regularly on the forums back in January....
EXHIBIT B! I present George's response to the Austinist's review of The Great Mundane!
"have you seen any improv in austin recently?!? the hideout has become a hotbed for improv activity, and while there are some newbie teams floating around, the vast majority of the players are seasoned veterans who play with confidence, intelligence, and style. every time i go to the hideout to see a show, i am at the very least entertained--sometimes i am inspired."
George reveal to us your true identity! We must know the truth!
