ok so the computer i used in college crashed 2 weeks before finals. it's a pc that had windows xp on it and now windows won't even start. i want to recover that hard drive bc it's got good stuff on it but i know NOTHING about computers....anyone have any suggestions or ideas or have any idea if it can be done????

When exactly does the computer fail? Does it not turn on? Does it get to the initial BIOS screen and then wig out? Depending on what the problem is, it could be pretty easy to recover your data.

take the hard drive out and slave it to another pc.
