Current list of AIC members?

Post by arclight »

Is the list of improvisors/AIC members at http://portal.austinimprov.com/index.php?section=58 accurate? Or maybe more importantly, when was it accurate (obsolescence is simultaneous with publication)?

I'm working on a new AIC website and am trying to replicate what we currently have, provided what we have resembles reality. I've got most of the troupes, schools, venues, and managerial roles recorded and now I'm working on the big list of people.

I'll post a link to the dev site once the navigation is set and I've made the first pass at cosmetic cleanup. Normally I'd post a link, but it's a work in progress and I've found that the comments I get back are usually nitpicking about chrome like images and colors and other cosmetics that are known to be "broken" rather than substantial matters like whether important information is findable, pages are broken, or substantial information is missing. First substance, then style.

FWIW, I don't consider chrome irrelevant; it's just not relevant yet. There's no point in tweaking aesthetics if the underlying site is broken, i.e. doesn't provide what its intended audience needs or wants. This attitude makes me the mortal enemy of Marketing types (who often mistake themselves as a relevant audience...) But that's another rant for another day.

the new CT troupe is called Murphy and includes:
Kerri "PunkRock Murphy" Atwood,
Nick "Dr. Nick Murphy, M.D." Brzezinski,
Brent "Biggie Murphy" Foshee,
Lisa "MC Murphy" Jackson,
Josh "Murphy Yellow" Krilov,
Jennifer "Flash Murphy" Micallef,
Anthony "Baby Murphy" Norton,
Stephanie "Corky Murphy" Russo, and
Kyle "Murphy Jones" Sweeney

make sure on the 'troupes' side of things you drop the "Heroes" from Coldtowne, and add Look Cookie, Midnight Society, and Murphy.

also, add Robin Goodfellow as a performer. He's earned it.

great work as always, bob!

Thanks for the update - I've added the cast of Murphy & Robin to the new site (the old site is still a bit stale.) I've made mostly non-stupid venue and troupe list pages tonight. I don't like the way I've done it (there's unacceptable redundancy and disconnection) but troupes and venues change less often than people and there are less of them so I'm willing to let it go for Round 1. The trick is internalizing that there will be a Round 2 and putting off the unessential stuff until then (and classifying more stuff as unessential as you get fed up with it...)

The trick to creating an all-singing, all-dancing site is to start with a rhythmically-swaying, tunelessly-humming site that can be trained to sing and dance. :)

There's still a lot of data entry to do which I'm not worrying a huge amount about (yet) - as long as I have enough real info to make the dev site look believable, I'm happy.

Also, Flying Theater Machine- though I'm not sure we count since I can't figure out what and how to pay the AIC whatever it is we are supposed to pay for the privileged and honor of being a member.
