ColdTowne Manor

The official time has come for ColdTowne to ditch these crummy efficiencies we ended up in after Katrina and find an Austin home for our troupe. We're looking at May to start livin' and cookin', so the hunt begins... now.

Any footwork or hot leads you people have would be welcome. 3 separate bedrooms with two workspaces are a must, so let's just call it 4 bedroom with garage? Just think, you could have us as neighbors!

We're butter-borrowers.

i highly recommend Housing Maps. it combines craigslist & google maps in an awesome way. it's how i found the drake house.

I also highly recommend not moving any further north than where you are right now and, if possible, moving downtown. South of the river. Come to the too-hip-for-its-own-good part of town. It calls you.

ColdTowners...

There is a place for rent on my block that looks pretty sweet. I live damn close to downtown and the neighborhood itself is very nice. Right near a little park and stuff.

My memory fails me, but i think it was 4 beds and $1595. Or maybe 3 beds. Not positive. Either way, I'm not sure if that's in the collective price range but I thought I'd throw this out.

Check out the neighborhood: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... austin,+tx

I can walk to the Hideout in about 20 minutes.

EDIT: ...and sadly I'm moving because to rent in this hood is not the same as being able to buy. me and the lady are moving somewhere cheaper to buy.
...but i highly recommend the area. there's some places to eat over on south 1st there, you can walk to congress and to some other stuff. heck you could walk to alamo south. anyway, just a thought...

I can walk to the Hideout from our house in 30 minutes.
There are a few houses in my area that are up for lease as well.

I really love where I'm living, but what I love more is the idea of starting an actual improv co-operative. A five or more bedroom house full of improvisers that live and work together, and build a stage in the gigantic backyard.

I lived in co-ops for 3 years and am actually serious about this.

Anyone know of a cheap gigantic house in a kick-ass part of town?

I'd move in for 6 months...
