I want to build an online map

Post by LisaJackson »

I want to make a map that has nothing but pinpoints of places I frequent on it so I can determine the best place to move. Google map has something like this but the code seems to have been written by a monkey.

Do any of you know of a program that works?

I'm sorry this doesn't help you, but this is a great episode of This American Life that your request reminded of:

I don't know of an alternative, but here's a video on how to actually use the Google Maps "My Maps" feature (make sure you click on the "create a map" button so you don't see the annoying intro to google maps video instead.

Google Earth is probably the best "easy" tool I know of. I have it at work. Drop me a line.

This may sound old school, but you could print out a map and put pins in the places you frequent. Then look at the pattern and decide where to live based on that.
