For Ensembles:
What we are looking for
We are looking for improv ensemble, improvised solo and two person improv. All formats are welcomed. We are looking for creative improvisational theater. Funny sure does not hurt either.
What we are NOT looking for
Standup, Sketch Comedy and Written Productions.
What to Submit For Ensembles:
- Your ensemble information (Press Releases, Bios, pictures - CD of this information recommended)
- Main contact person (contact phone and email. fax numbers if applicable)
- One Un-Edited 45-60 minute performance in VHS, DVD or an electronic link to Youtube, Myspace, Ifilm or ensemble website. Please check your DVD's to make sure they play on different American Systems before sending. Please make sure all of your submission are clean visually and audibly.
What we are looking for
Workshop Instructors versed in the art of improvisational theater. This includes music, physical, scene structure, improv in entertainment business, etc.
What to Submit:
- Your information (Press Releases, curriculum bios, pictures. CD of this information preferred.)
- Your Contact Info (contact phone and email. fax numbers if applicable)
- References: At least three references on your teaching abilities
- One Un-Edited class of you teaching in VHS, DVD or an electronic link to Youtube, Myspace, Ifilm or website. *this is recommended, but optional*
The San Francisco Improv Festival gives you an entire six months to apply to our festival! The faster you apply to SFIF08, the less you pay. We are now in the final submission fee range so get your ensembles in before the deadline!

We prefer you send us an electronic submission of all your materials! You can email your information in .zip form to our email address or send us a link to your video via Youtube, Ifilm, MySpace or a link to your website

The San Francisco National Improv Festival offers each group selected three solid nights prime time slots (Thurs-Saturday) in the heart of San Francisco. We offer our participants payment from ticket sales, billeting of ensembles discounted hotel and airline rates and possibly the best time you can have in San Francisco. Our goal of the festival is to have improv companies in the Bay area teamed with National Ensembles and receive payment via a full three day run. Class Teachers will receive payment from workshop classes.

The San Francisco Improv Festival does not pay for full hotel or full Travel accommodations for our festival. We only ask that if you can get to San Francisco, the festival will cover you with billeting and/or inexpensive accommodations.
