Tomorrow is Election Day. Horray! While it is a constitutional amendment election (code not a sexy election) please go vote anyway!

On this type of thing, I usually just follow the chron's recommendations. Any reason not to do that on this election?

That depends on what you think about higher taxes, how much you use the roads, and the office of Hides and Animals.

Congrats Shawn on your proposition passing.

I was opposed to 12 (highway funding) and 16 (municipal water and sewage service to the exurbs)...but what can you do? At least they were close to being defeated.

Also - I love that fully a quarter of all voting Texans wanted to keep the pretty much non-existant office of inspector of hides and animals. Hi-larious.

Yeah on prop 3. I feel like my vote really counted.

My feeling is that many people feared missing out on funding this at all if it didn't happen through taxes. There was no way for people to vote for paying cash from the budget surplus, thus no way to guarantee that any money would go toward cancer research. I am not suprised it passed. I am angry that it ever had to come down to this type of vote. Cancer affects so many of us either directly or indirectly - my wife's mother died of cancer, 3 of my 4 grandparents died of cancer, and on and on.

I am sure this was yet another case of you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. Let's see how much money the Texas Bankers Association (or some related group) contributes back to the politicians in campaign support.

BTW - I just watched Sicko last night. That might be coloring my opinions today.
