AIC Awards nominations are open!

Post by valetoile »

Hello Everyone! Nominations are open! Sorry it took so long, we had some technical difficulties. Nominations should be sent in via email to aicvoting@gmail.com. The actual voting will be done online, very similarly to the way we voted for the B. Iden Payne awards this year. Below are the categories. Vote now!

Welcome the the Austin Improv Collective Awards for 2007! These awards and the accompanying banquet were designed to give our community a chance to reflect on how lucky we are to work with so many wonderful people, and to recognize the many and varied talents of our members. The awards are a chance not to claim personal glory but to send out immense amounts of love to the people you admire most.

The first step in the process in nominations. You may enter up to three nominations in each of the categories below. Feel free to enter fewer or none in any category. On Tuesday November 6 nominations will close, and the top nominees in each category will be tallied. Later that week, voting will open and you can vote from the top nominees in each category. Aren't all the people around you so awesome?!

Is it ok to add people to the nominations list then go back and add more later, or do they all need to be in the same email?

I miss there being a Best Female Improviser and Best Male Improviser. Can we put that in?

Anyone else agree?
Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

Yeah, I like those too.

Is there anything against nominating yourself?

I bet Sara Farr has some serious competition for the Sara Farr award this year.

Yes, but I admire myself the most! Is that so wrong?

I have, too. Let us know if more categories come on line, as some people are clamoring for.

When voting, I found it useful to look at this list of Austin Improvisers:

http://portal.austinimprov.com/index.php?section=58

And Troupes:

Which should probably be updated.

Neither are the entire rosters of Look Cookie, Midnight Society, and the Starter Kit.

On the other hand, Latifah Taormina and Dan Rubin are in the running for dark-horse victories based on their past accomplishments.

I think the site is set up so lots of people can edit it and add information. There's a login/create and account feature in the upper right hand corner. I think Bob or Andy or some one has to approve you and then you can edit pages.
