Okay, I just sent out about 114 emails to people in the improv community.

You should have received an email with this information if I have your email address.
=====

ACOT is once again giving an award out to the "Best Improv Company" in Austin. But we, as a community, need to decide who that is, and we only have until about 5PM Friday.

Go here to vote, and login with your email address. If you can't login, send me an email (ROY AT JANIK DOT ORG) or a PM with your email address so I can add you to the eligible voters.

We're looking to open this vote up to everyone associated with improv in Austin, so if there's someone you think I might not have the email please send me an email or PM and let me know... (I'm probably missing the emails of lots of students and new improvisers). That being said, I do have 114 names/emails already.

Thanks.

If you have ANY difficulty voting at all, just let me know, and I'll get it straightened out.

Yeah, Roy is pretty much awesome/the best/my favorite.
But I could be biased. Doubt it, though.

Yeah, thanks for doing this Roy.

Is there a minimum number of votes we are looking to hit before pushing this through to Payne folks?

We've got 31 votes already, which I'm decently happy with. I'll just look at the results at 5PM tomorrow and then push it through to them.

I'm curious about how, perhaps in the future, to distinguish what used to be known as (and still kind of currently is) the Heroes of Comedy. This "group", as it were, has been responsible for a run of shows throughout the year that have included:

Six Degrees
Gorilla Theatre
Cops and Lawyers
Start Trekkin
Theatresports
The soon to be Shakespeare show
and, in actuality, Micetro (er, Maestro)

All of these shows have combined to create quite a positive profile for improv in the community.

Yeah, Heroes of Comedy was listed as a choice specifically with that in mind. It's actually the closest to being a "company", in my opinion, since it produces shows with varying casts and specific runs. As to what Heroes is, and what it'll be going forward, that's a whole nuther thread, I think.

50 votes and counting...
