Tuesday Night Jam - 10/8/07

Post by Wesley »

Tuesday night is upon us again and that means jamming!

Hideout Theater, 7-10, no experience necessary, no cost!

I hope to be there (depending on when the plumber can come out).

I have some ideas on spacework and emotional reactions, but what else would people like to work on?

Hmm. At Micetro, I noticed I was kind of desperately throwing out lots of offers at the starts of my scenes, instead of settling down and letting the scene happen more naturally. *shrug* I'd appreciate any exercise that could curb this habit a bit.

On the flipside of that, at times I notice myself waiting for my scene partner to make an offer rather than making a choice right at the top and sticking with it. Happy medium?

It's the 'and' part of 'Yes, and'

A good exercise for this would be to observe your partner at the top of the scene and make a statement about their appearance/mood. Your scene partner might not even realize that they're projecting something, and then they'll have to justify or build on what you say to them.

You work your life away and what do they give?

As much as I would like to attend this evening, I will not be able to do so. My wife has injured her back to the point of immobilizing herself. That being said, I shall be taking care of things at the homestead which now has the lovely smell of IcyHot....mmmm.

I may still have to dodge myself, but I think I'll be able to come from 7 to 8:30 or so.

If so, we'll work on offer soup, the law of diminishing returns, and the old adage that "If the scene is about what the scene is about, then you're in deep shit."

Also, remember, even if Wes or Dav or someone you consider a leader of the jam isn't there, you can still have a jam.
