Mark your calendars and plan on being in Austin for the annual AIC Same Year's Eve Show (the night before New Year's Eve).
Everybody shows up with some party food, we break up into three or four randomly generated groups and do a show with some short form, some flowey montage, some longform and maybe some singing. Everybody loves us.
Save the date.

I don't understand this. Who is "everybody," and where do they show up, and for whom (what audience) are they performing?

Everybody is everyone who considers themselves an improviser in Austin, they show up at the Hideout, and they perform for an audience of Austinites.

It's easy to get swept up in the excitement of the shows and performing with the entire community (BC THAT IS SO AWESOME), so it's important to arrange for some volunteers to do lights, sound & box in advance. I was happy to do lights last year as I got to see all the shows. I'd do that again.
To play in a show, I think we were required to show up by 7pm to put your name in the hat. Names were then drawn and imps were randomly put into shows. There were 3 (very crowded & racous) shows last year, right?
8pm-ish = Short form team competition (40min)
9pm-ish = Organic Montage Scenes (40min)
10pm-ish = Longform Musical (40min)
OR was it one show w/ 3 sets
9pm-ish = Short form team competition (25min)
9:30pm-ish = Organic Montage Scenes (25min)
10pm-ish = Longform Musical (25min)
Last year there was also a keg and some bubbly to toast in the old year. I liked the toasting. Should we do that again?
11p-12a = Party
12a = Toast
12a onward = more Party

The show wasn't 3 hours long, surely?

Is a musician needed? Has one already claimed the spot? If the answers are yes and no in that order I volunteer.
