Want a free trip to chicago?

Ok, this is a long shot. If you have a truck and you want a free trip to Chicago and back, I will pay the gas and give you cash and a bed to sleep on while you're here if you stop along the way to pick up my car... which is in storage.

OR! Post your helpful suggestions as to how I can get the non-running car up here for less than $900.

I got a quote from a car carrier for $900 door to door all inclusive. The car isn't running so they charge $200 to get it on the truck. The other $700 includes all the gas/insurance/other costs.

The only truck that I've found that I can rent one-way with a tow hitch is a moving truck, but I don't need the 700 cubic feet of space, or whatever it is. If I was REALLY hard core I'd try and drive it here, but I'm afraid I'd throw a rod or the transmission would drop out on the highway. Please advise. Thanks.

How much would it cost to FIX the car?

Try using my company to ship it from wherever it's at to Chicago:
http://www.uship.com

You might be able to save some money on the $900.

I'm already in Chicago.

That depends on what you mean by "FIX". I think I could get it running for pretty cheap, but I'd be scared to drive it 900 miles. Once I get it to Chicago and into our garage I'll pretty much be slowly spending my savings and all my spare time to restore it.

I got some door to door quotes as low as $700, but the auto shipping industry just seems a little shady.

This is even more of a long shot, but if you or anyone you know has a truck I could use for this, then... um... tell me please. I'll pay you and stuff. Thanks.
