I need suggestions for cheap, air conditioned troupe practice space.
I searched the forums but didn't find anything mentioned.
Would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

No one wants to tell because good spaces are limited, the spaces wind up getting double booked, and two troupes wind up scrapping for room.
But, Dougherty Arts Center is a good morning weekend rehearsal space and will give you a room for free (*you have to call in advance and reserve one) until they close on Saturdays at 2:00. Pgraph started off doing 10-12 rehearsals there.
RLM ground floor on the UT campus is the next favorite, but you are technically supposed to be a UT student or employee to use the rooms. And EVERYONE uses it. It can be quite hard to find an open time between improv groups and when school is in session the room is used by no less than 3 campus organizations and clubs, too. The benefit is that even if the main room is taken, there are several usable classrooms on the upper floors.
Some people use the Hideout or ColdTowne, but you need an in or to be willing to pay the rental fee.
If someone has a garage or large open space, that can work, but I've found you have to be careful rehearsing at anyone's home because they often break down faster into distraction. I think there is a psychological motivator and benefit to having to go somewhere else to rehearse.
These are the most common places in town, though I'm sure others have good spots.
