Post by kaci_beeler »

Pgraph is performing on Time Warner channel 10 tonight at 10 PM. LIVE!

We have a pretty experimental parody type format we're going to try, so please watch if you are at home and capable.

10 PM! PGRAPH! LIVE!

If Batman is out there, he's coming out of retirement to put you criminals away! That show was funny and crazy. You guys really found your groove during the 2nd half.

- Loved the call in who asked if Kareem was really running for President with the LiberDemoRepubs!
- Loved that you were super villians taking over a cable access show.
- Loved that you kept taunting Batman and trying to get him to call in.
- Loved that you were worried that he may have thought the number you gave him was not real.
- Loved that Roy's head would fill the frame for scene transitions.
- Loved the dinosaur bedtime story!
- Loved the Christian aerobics show!
and that Kareem got worms from Satan!
- Loved that God called in during the Christian show

2 gripes: sound & lighting
We could barely see Roy's head when he came up to the camera and out of the light.

It was hard to hear you without mics bc: A) you would talk low, B) someone would adjust the volume, C) you'd change emotions and yell something D) which caused the sound to blast and clip out E) sound would get adjusted F) you'd be too low again.

HOWEVER! These technical snafus totally worked in your favor and played towards you guys being super villians taking over a cable access station! Whoop!

I strongly recommend headset mics for the next bunch -- GGG, along with a seperate mic for the keyboard -- and probably a mix board for all of that. If you need tech help with any of that, GGG, call me.

AIC banner to hang in background would be cool... though they DID put up an overlay with "LIVE" and "PGraph" along with p-graph's website at the top of the show.

:-)

Shame about the sound issues. We had 2 boom mics pointed at us, but there seemed to be some problems/confusion in the booth. That's why the hosts had to use hand-held mics. I had this moment of panic for a second before we went on, thinking that we'd have to use the mics on camera as well, but he assured us that the booms were working.

Thanks for watching! (and calling, Ms. Farr!)
I think we definitely found a groove in the second half...which was when callers started calling in. Perhaps that's not a coincidence.

Yeah, I noticed that, but I figured that since I was a supervillain, it was okay for me to be in shadow.

Yeah, they were having sound issues before we ever came on. So there was little we could do about that. I hope it wasn't too bad. We had no way of knowing.

This is why compressor/limiters exist. Do they have one? If not I'll bring mine down and run it off the inserts (sorry, sold my LA-2 for a software version - but I have an old ART CS2 that should be adequate).

I think this may be overkill. A stereo boom set properly aimed and compressed should be OK and a lot less difficult to deal with, unless someone's feeling really ambitious and wants to ride herd on 7 or 8 channels plus the house mics for audience/ambience and the channel with the incoming calls.

Sara, sounds like one of us needs to call and/or go down to get a look at what the station is running. I'd be amenable if you want to meet and see what they've got, chat about what we've got and how best to make it all work smoothly. PM me if you would like to do this.

well, our lack of cable prevented us from seeing this show, although we *did* flip through a few times in a futile/desperate attempt to find it.

we' like to see the DVD.

Austin Public Access reruns content like crazy. I bet if you DVR a few of their 4-hour blocks you can find it again.

Speaking of, we noticed as we were leaving that the Cola Girls Stool Pigeon had started playing on Channel 16. I have no idea if they showed the whole thing or not, but it certainly looked like they were.
