I refuse to read your Harry Potter predictions.
I am gonna be standing in line for the book like the rest of you. Milkshake will be toting her wand. But I want to be totally surprised and fresh for this novel since the last 6 were all kinda ruined for me by the movies and other people.
I know they're just theories, but some people come up with some pretty darn good theories that I wouldn't come up with (i.e. the harry-is-a-horcrux thing that I got pissed-off about hearing several months ago). I'd rather not think about it too much and just enjoy the ride. For this book I don't care so much about being the person who predicted everything before they read it. I just wanna be on the edge of my seat the whole time, and since Crichton refuses to write Jurassic Park 3, I don't get many chances to do that with books.
Keep your theories away from this Dumbledork, People-Who-Are-Smarter-And/Or-Better-At-Predicting-Story-Elements-Than-Me.

good point, I think I'll hang out in this thread rather in that other one (even though I already tossed my predictions in).
This will be the third one I get at midnight, but ever since that Youtube video of the shit teenagers yelling out spoilers outside of Borders, I've started to get worried about going to get it at midnight.

Let's hope the same jerks who made the "Dumbledore Dies on Page ____" T-shirt for the last book don't do something similar for this one. I ordered the book a few hours ago, but it probably won't arrive until the end of the month.Lants wrote:sorry for the double-post...
I just found out that the book has leaked online so I'm going to avoid the majority of the internet until this weekend... I'm so frightened.
I'm going to do my best to avoid anything that resembles the word Harry or Potter or any other names of characters or places that exist in the books. It's going to be a paranoid time.

Someone was telling me that some dudes were printing up flyers to hand out at release events around the country that looked like sheets of event rules, but were actually big lists of spoilers. Superbly evil.Justin Davis wrote: Let's hope the same jerks who made the "Dumbledore Dies on Page ____" T-shirt for the last book don't do something similar for this one.
And what the hell is a horcrux? Is that some sex thing? Weirdos.

Ditto. The NYtimes online pissed me off today by headlining and then talking about the ending. On the FRONT PAGE. In general terms, but still. I don't want to know anything!!!!DollarBill wrote:I am gonna be standing in line for the book like the rest of you. Milkshake will be toting her wand. I'm actually considering writing a complaint to them.
edit: i did send them some feedback. Looks like it's off the front page... so it's safe to read the nytimes again.
