Thanks to everyone who helped with last night's poetry slam fundraiser at Ruta Maya! It's not easy doing shows in a space like that sometimes, but exposing a whole new set of people to great improv is a terrific way of getting the word out about the AIC.

Participating in the "Doom Train" elimination show were:
Patrick Swayze Hit Squad (aka theatersports)
Aw Shit!
Parallelogramophonograph
The Frank Mills

Congrats to F.M. for pulling off the most important victory of their lives.

But special special thanks to PGraph for not only putting on great sets, but showing hustle. They were plugging like hell, mingling, giving out free tickets, they were working it. If every troupe in town worked half as hard as those beautiful creatures, we would be unstoppable.

Plus I heard they lost a troupe member in the hustle. Wes apparently met his demise at the edge of the stage.

Sorry Christina! He seemed like such a good felllow!!! <wink>

How did you guys get hooked up with this? I work with a guy from the Austin Slam team and he and I have been talking about working together. I think it is a great match (slam and improv). I was just wondering how all this got arranged???

Great to hear about it. Thanks for putting improv out there to a new audience. Good work all involved!!!

Who was talking about an improv slam the other day??? Kareem??? I want to hear more of this idea.

They approached ColdTowne about it some months ago. Phil West sent us an email about doing an improv slam as part of their big fund raiser.
