I would reccomend Dr. Dana Sprute (pronounced Spru-tee) at

Blackstock Family Health Center
1313 Red River St Ste 100
Austin, TX 78701-1923
(512) 324-8600

She's cool, an MD, masters in public health, a GP and a gyno to boot! I've been seeing her for 5 years and I really like her as a doctor. The office as a whole I don't know if I can reccomend that strongly. The people are always nice, but it's not upscale or anything near it. I think a lot of the clientele may be on medicaid or something. I don't know. But it is central, attached to the hospital, and takes lots of insurance. I have BCBS insurance.

Hope that helps.

Even though you're looking for a GP, I just wann say I love my dentist. He takes all major insurance too.

Munoz Family Health Clinic is right next door to my Amy's- the people there are really nice and friends with the whole company. I haven't been there in a medical sense, but that's where I would go if I needed treatment. It's at the corner of Northland and Burnet.
