Eventfull?

Post by bradisntclever »

Last night, while I was working box for Theatresports, a guy came up and started asking me if GGG was performing at 10 PM. He had checked some website that sounds like eventfull.com (I couldn't get a clear pronunciation from him) and it had given him that info. The site also mentioned TNA every week at the Hideout, which he tried to attend last Thursday.

I managed to talk him into Maestro and referred him to austinimprov.com in the future, but if anyone knows what website he's referring to, we should try to update the info to eliminate confusion.

This is an interesting trend that's been happening for a while (not just for us, but for other entertainment venues and troupes/bands). Witht he advent of the internet and all the entertainment sites sprouting up, in some cases we are actually no longer in control of our own information. People find us and post about it without contct ing us or us contacting them. We should fix these things when we can, but I think we'll be getting more of this in the future and there's little we can do preemptively to fix it.
(Until someone develops a way to feed these sites with an iCal or RSS type industry standard so we could have a set page they all pull from and changes made to that page would ripple out automatically.)

I figured that was most likely the case, but I was still curious to see if anyone could determine the site he mentioned. Unless I'm mistaken, we're working on getting an RSS feed going but the current calendar software is not so friendly.
