The list - check out all the neat old movies they're playing this summer! I've got one of the FlixTix passes, so I'll be going to as many of these as I can. If you see one that looks appealing (Seven Samurai, anyone?) lemme know!

kudos to the Paramount for mixing classic and contemporary. I love that theater and the summer movie series in general and have gone to several in the past.

As a P.S. - not all the movies are 'old'....but they're not first-run. About three years ago there were plans on the drawing board to re-develop the old whole foods site with a mixed use development as tall as the new whole foods that included a first-run theater. It would have been the first time in a long time that downtown had one, but the project got squashed because clarksville residents came out against the project for blocking their views. :?

I don't see any new theaters besides the Alamo Ritz coming on anytime soon. Kinda a shame since it's a natural activity to pair with a nice dinner out downtown. Oh well.

I'm with you, Matt. I always love the old black and whites they show during the summer. It's a tradition.

We should get a group together to go see "Arsenic and Old Lace" or something. Classic.

Once I start going to the Paramount every summer, I tend to keep going back. I'm game for lots of movies, especially Seven Samurai. Other stuff that seems appealing at first glance: Connery as Bond night, Newman & Redford night, In the Heat of the Night, Citizen Kane, Touch of Evil, maybe the O'Toole comedy night, THEM!, Slaughterhouse-Five, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Third Man, and Lawrence of Arabia.

I doubt I will attend all of those, but I will definitely be at Lawrence and probably some of the Welles films.

Obviously, I need to attend Touch of Evil, since we apparently stole the name for a mini-IfE show and I was totally oblivious to the fact that it was a movie title....

The rock I live under is nice and comfy :)
