Anyone have cable/internet through Grande Communications?

I'm moving to a new place in a couple weeks and that means transferring utilities over. Grande Communications' cable and internet is available in the area I'm moving to (just east of I-35, north of Manor) and I'm wondering if I should get it. The price looks to be a few bucks cheaper than Warner Brothers, but I'm wondering how the service is before I call to set up the change.

Holy thread resurrection.

We ended up not getting Grande. I know a few people on the boards here have it though. Looks like we're going to end up getting Uverse soon, even if we can't get the public access channels.

i have grande for internet and have no problems. i think we had to call once in 3 years probably. i dont have cable so i am not sure about that.

Boo again to no cable access channels.

I have had grande for 5 years and might have had to call them twice. Their internet and cable are flawless victories.

I switched to Grande today. The Time Warner lady's pitch to get me to stay was hilariously pathetic.

I bet it was. Probably a lot like how AOL would beg people to stay when everyone started the mass exodus years ago. I tried to leave it in college, but they kept giving me free months of service. Eventually, after nine months of free service, I had to call it quits and leave.

"No, there's nothing you can do to convince me otherwise. Please just cancel the service and then leave me alone."

It was like breaking up with an especially needy and desperate girlfriend.

I used to tell them I was going into the military, but ironically, that sounded too tasteless after 9/11 and the above response is now my go-to.

Here was my moment of epiphany from the waning days of my having a land line which I would occasionally answer when I did not recognize the number which was calling.

(Pitchman)"Is there any way you can tell me $150 plane tickets to anywhere in the country does not sound like a good deal?'
(Me)" Well, um... I'm actually deathly afraid of flying, (total lie) in fact just talking to you about flying is making me break out in a cold sweat."
(Pitchman)"Oh, well um... (very long pause) I'm sorry to hear that."
(Me) " One day I will be brace enough to fly again."

As satisfying as it was to realize that the phobia defense had no rebuttal (irrational fear and all...) it became more and more fun to apply it to less probable phobias; long distance calling, switching credit cards, groundwater use surveys, etc.

Ugh, so after a year, Grande decides to raise our bill by $30, and offers no possible solutions or deals.

Switching to something again is on the radar. But where? I already have AT&T for my phone...is this U thing worth it? I really don't want to switch back to Time Warner, but I just want a decent price.

Advice? Or just doomed forever to a cycle of switching?

So if I'm happy with my Time Warner does that mean I should just threaten to leave all the time? There's an outside chance they'll fly me around the US to keep me as a customer?

We've had Uverse for almost a year now and have been happy with it. It was a bit of a rough start for the first month or so due to getting bad cable boxes, but everything has been fine after that was cleared up. They just added a few more HD channels (Cooking HD and TMC HD, for example of good ones), and our wireless internet is always really strong in the house.

Oh, and um ... the funny part... er. I'm feeling lazy. Here.
