No Shame going to relaunch

Post by shando »

So, some of you peeps might remember the good old days of No Shame, which I ran at the Hideout for almost five years.

Now that I'm the Programming Director at SVT, my production company Gnap! is going to be bringing it back. I'd like to do something a little different this time around. I won't be able to be there all the time to make sure things happen, so I'm looking to make a "No Shame Company" of about 15 to 20 people who can be at shows on a somewhat regular basis. We'll be looking for actors, writers, directors, dancers, performance artists, musicians, what have you.

It looks like we'll have some kind of 'audition' process in mid-June. Please send me an email or PM if you want the inside skinny. Also please let you students/theater friends/art weirdos in your acquaintance know about this. Should be a lot of fun. Shows will be Fridays late at SVT, most likely starting in August. We'll probably have a handful of open workshops to help people generate a nice body of work before we open, and I'll probably also do a hosting workshop.

Thanks.

Yay! No Shame! Where I workshopped sketches before putting together a sketch troupe.

So No Shame will still be open to anyone and everyone to put up what they want, but the No Shame Company will sort of be there to make sure that there's some consistency from week to week and that the show happens?

That's exactly right. Also, what being in the company will entail is free admission, rather than the $3 everyone else gets charged (since even if you bring a piece, you're still audience for most of the night). Notice the slight inflation from days of yore?
