Hello! I'm moving to chicago around the end of july/ beggining of August. If anyone else has a fancy dream of moving up north to take classes at Second City and anyother place that offers- your welcome to come with me.

Benifits include:

Only having to pay half the rent!
Only having to pay half the bills!
Fighting for the larger room!
Car pooling!
Not having to drive so much!
Living with a girl!
Living your dream!
Living with a non smoker!
Living in Chicago!
Snow in the winter!
Mild summers!

I am so so proud of you for making this move.

You will do great!

Look up my friend Thea Lux. Her one woman show was the last thing I directed in Chicago.
She reminds me alot of how you improvise and she would be a great resource for how to get started!

Yea Ever!!

I can't move up there with you, but I was just in Chicago with my parents this past December (brrrr!), and we had a great time. Lots of good theater and arts up there (including the Chicago Art Institute). Jen & Erin are up there, too. And soon some of the Available cupholders are moving back (Bill & Ace??). I know you will love it!!

I'm hoping to convince the entire Leading Brands to come up for a visit this August to see some shows, take a class, eat some pizza, drink some beer, and tour the city. (More on this later.)

There is a button that says "quote" on the upper right hand corner of each individual post on any given thread. Simply push it to quote it.

I know I only lived there for a couple years, but I really highly highly recommend that you live east of the river. You'll be closer to all the sweet stuff that way. PLUS they are about to start construction on the brown-line (elevated train). I'm gonna move as close to the red-line as possible (without being under it) cuz those trains slow way down during construction times.

Two 'hoods to check out! Andersonville: this is where I used to be. It's peaceful when you want, hoppin' when you want, cheap, and although its kinda north you can get on a clark-bus or the red-line and be anywhere pretty fast. If you like beer the Hopleaf has all of them. If you like baked goods the Swedish bakery will make your brain come out of your face and throw its hands up and just walk away totally flabbergasted at how ridiculously amazing their baked goods are.

The other one that my friends are so raven about is Roscoe Village: Close enough to Lakeview to throw a stone at all the happnin' stuff, but far enough away to be affordable.

Then there's Lakeview/Lincoln Park which is totally hip and cool, but also totally expensive. And a ton of other places in between. I'll be on the chicago apartment hunt in June as well. Good luck. Look us up while you're there if you need help.
