Tuesday Night Jam - 4/24/07

Is it Tuesday again?
YES!
And that can mean only 1 thing...it's jam night!

Tonight at the Hideout, upstairs, from 7-10 we will throw down the jimmity-jam! (That's real life street slang for just saying jam, but with more syllables. Rule number one of street slang: if you want something to sound cooler, use more syllables.)

I have lots of ideas for tonight. First, this will be a practice jam for the May 5th Maestro and for those people that are already signed up to play we will work on specific games and techniques Christina and I want to use in that show. It's like an actual Maestro rehersal!
We'll also work on some environment work and a lot of character stuff like motivation, status, objective, and emotion. And I'm going to try to pull out some games and warm-ups that we maybe haven't seen in a while, so it should be fun and educational for newer players.

This is my last jam for a while, so come on out, bring a friend, and let's have fun!

I can't find the thread where you were looking for people to step up to run the jam in May, but Roy and I would like to take the reins, unless someone else feels strongly about running things.

I'm in a really creative mood today, so I'll be at the jam in spades, clubs, diamonds, hearts, clovers and red balloons, and plenty more Lucky Charms as soon as I'm done with this damn Leprechaun. I got a ballgag in his mouth and a gun to his head and he won't tell me where the pot of gold is... Yeah. The creative juices are flowin' like Owen.

Good, good. Yes, Roy and Kareem, the baby is yours.

David, bring the creation.

Oh, and everybody, try to wear a t-shirt you don't mind getting a little wet. I might want to try something to see if it works or not...

You won't fool me! That's a bucket of confetti, not water.

I meant to work that into the harlem globetrotters warm up last week, but got caught up in the action and forgot about it. If I hadn't though, I'm not sure how one would pantomime the water to confetti switcheroo. With all the great improvisors there I'm sure someone would have been catching my frisbee.

I had Sweet Georgia Brown cued up and ready to roll at the start, but we had some new people and I didn't want to scare them right away. I forgot to get back to it. Maybe next time!

Hell of a great jam everyone! Thank you for letting me experiment with you all!

I have to say, that jam was fun, but... uh... *ahem*...

"I bleach dictionaries!"
"I bleach my own books, too. I call it 'The Bible'."

"For this sexual position to work, you need at least four stepchildren."

That was a really good idea for getting suggestions, Wes, but I wouldn't consider that particular jam "family friendly" by any means. I also liked the blindfolded game, and I'd like to see that place at Maestro.

Also, I'd like to note that during "Energy Pace", when I slowed the pace down to 40 bpm and said "shoegazer", shoegazer is a genre of really slow rock.

Now would be a perfect time to cue "Dirty Little Secret" by All-American Rejects... and then you fuck her.
