I have a fun idea...

...I've always been a big fan of stargazing. And I love the AIC. What about mixing them together (a la the Blanton Art Tours)?

Crazy?? or GENIUS!

It just so happens there is an "Austin Astronomical Society" in town and they host regular stargazing parties. The summer is a great time to do this. Especially in August when we have the Persied Meteor Shower. On a clear night with no moon during the storm, you can see anywhere from 5 to 15 shooting stars every 10 min.

Would anyone like to come out and improvise stories about "lost" constellations or "little-known-facts" about stars and galaxies and other space thingys? Perhaps we could do a benefit the Wilderness Basin, the Nature Center, or some other nature spot in Austin.

I am very intersted in doing this -- either as a cross-promo of AIC and the AAS, or just AIC, or on my own. Take the poll, peeps, and let me know what you think.

Great idea, Sara! I'm definitely in, and I can guarantee that Wes would be, too.

Once again, Christina knows me too well. It is right up my alley. I'm an astronomy buff (I edit astronomy textbooks) and can do a gig like this--no pun intended--all night!
