Laugh Your Talk

This is the week!!! It is finally here!!! The thing you have all been waiting for...

The SafePlace benefit show called "Laugh Your Talk" featuring the comedy stylings of GGG, Junk, and IFE is this Thursday at 8 PM @ the Hideout. I know GGG will be doing an all original improvised musical...brilliant (like the Guiness commercial)! Junk will be taking a slightly different path than their normal show and will do Gorilla Theatre (insert OOOOH here). I have not yet heard what IFE is doing, but I am sure it will be a spectacle to behold. IFE...update if you can!

Please come to this show and bring 5 friends! We are asking for a suggested donation of $25.00, but if that is too steep for you...pay what you can.

If you can't make it to the show, please take this opportunity to go to http://www.safeplacewalk.org and DONATE what you can. Some of you have already done that and it is greatly appreciated. Again, my team name is Laughs For Lives if you are interested.

Now...let the guilt sink in and take action before the feeling goes away.

I would, but I have a show. I fully fully support this, though (and have done so, financially).

I will try to come, but I teach until 8:40pm on T/TH and will probably be there late.

I may be able to let my students out sooner on Thursday (if they're all on track). I'll tell them tonight about the show and encourage them to work really hard so they can leave early on Thursday -- maybe I'll get a few interested in coming to see the show.

I just wanted to throw out a huge thank you to GGG, Junk, IFE, Ratliff, Asaf, and anyone else that helped out with, raised money for, or attended last night's show. In all we raised $610.00...not bad considering the EXTREMELY light house.

This was a good learning experince for me. The next time Laughs For Lives produces a show, I will be much more prepared.

Again, thanks for participating and supporting. I think, if nothing else, that this show may have opened a few doors (probably more like windows) for Austin improvisers. I hope more of you will be able to help out next time around!

See you tonight @ Threefer Madness with Curtis Needs a Ride, Vertigo Ramp, and The Knuckleball Now, then again at the Double Barrel with Junk and The Frank Mills (with special guests Michael Garcia and Ike Barenholtz).

Congrats, Ted. I'm sure your show was much more fun than my rehearsal. Are there still ways to give money?

Absolutely!!! Follow this link http://www.austin-safeplace.org/site/TR ... am_id=6370. You can sponsor one of the walkers listed on the team OR you can just click on the SUPPORT LAUGHS FOR LIVES buttor OR click on "Make a Gift" to the left of the thermometer. You can donate any amount in increments of $5.00. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated.

The goal is to raise $1000.00. Right now we are at $610.00 with 2 days to go. You can donate to SafePlace at anytime, but if you want it to count for the Walk and specifically Laughs For Lives, then you need to get it done by tomorrow.

THANKS Shannon (and anyone else who plans on following Shannon's lead :D )!

Thanks again Ted! I've made a donation and I encourage everyone to consider a gift. And Ted, I pledge to help you produce the next Laughs for Lives show if you want a co-conspirator!
I'm sorry I can't be there tomorrow, but I know you all will have a great time!

Jules

What time should we meet at the park tomorrow for the walk? What time does the walk start?

The park opens at 9 AM. The activities start probably around 10 AM. The actual walk will begin at 11:15. I will have a big, light blue banner that says CHOOSE RESPECT and has some people on it that look like this...

It is the one that was hanging on the stage right wall last night.

That is where I will be!
