Pgraph + Cupholders? No fuckin' way!
Yes way.
Every Thursday in April, two of my favorite troupes in town will be kicking out the jams at Coldtowne Theatre.
Pgraph's going to continue their run of Family Portrait, a show that gives you a glimpse into the inner-workings of a different family each week. Cupholders are busting out their Wheel of Formats, letting a random spin determine the format of the show. Should be a blast!
I have it from a reliable source that there might be some representatives of The Media in attendance tonight, so if you've got nothin' going on and have an itch to see some 'prov, we'll scratch it like only the Kittens of Pgraph can.
Coldtowne Theatre.
8pm.

PGraph and Cupholders?! In one show?! As in, back to back?! As in, a show with Wesley Bain, Kaci Beeler, Kareem Badr, Roy Janik, Valerie Ward, Bill Stern, Jeremy Lamb, Ace Manning, Jon Benner, and Michael Joplin, all performing in the same building?! And all this month?!?!
(creams himself)
Of course I'll be there!

I have to say I really really enjoyed Pgraph's Family portrait last night. First let me say the cupholders are consistently performing on a kick ass level and I've been very impressed every time I've seen them. (including last night), but something about the Family Portrait has really stayed with me.
I might send a PM or something so as to avoid an overly long post. Walking out of the theatre I wouldn't have said that it was one of the favorite shows I have seen. Actually during the show I alternated between deep engagement and a hard to quantify (but mostly good?) discomfort. But last night and all of today, the show has stuck in my brain like a really cool dream. I was really impressed with all the honesty, faithfulness to character and the reality that was created. You were all great but I especially thought Kareem's father character's honest reactions and emotions really was the glue to the show.
Unlike some Maestros I've been in where I was like "yeah!, that was great. What scenes were you in? What scenes was I in?" this show really left me impressed long after I left the theatre.
So.
Good job.
and I'll shut up now.

That's not what I meant. Stop putting dicks in my mouth.
And on Zach's comments: Awesome. That's cool to hear. I think a lot of times it's the shows that make an audience go "awwwwww" rather than "HAHAHA" that stick with them. The 'holders are in an EXTREMELY playful phase, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. But I love those "awwww" shows a lot too. I think Wheeelz had some nice moments. Let's do that again. "Wheeelz 2: The Revenge of Kip Wheelz"
