Late Night Lawrence of Arabia at the Hideout Tonight
So I rented Lawrence of Arabia, and Asaf pointed out that it really needs to be seen on the big screen. And it just so happens that I manage a theater with a medium screen and a projector, so I'll be watching that tonight after going to Buckman's play (I'm Not Tartuffe) probably around 10:00pm. So if you're down for a three-hour movie at 10:00pm tonight, swing by the Hideout and bring some popcorn.

Them damn Turks kept your people down. Thank goodness the Europeans intervened in the breakup of the Ottoman Empire and made everything better.kbadr wrote:Plus, it's kinda sorta part of my history.

PS--This is not to downplay the historic oppression of any group or national liberation struggles in general. I was only commneting on whites' abilities in the colonial era to come up with usually the worst possible long-tern solution to most things they touched.

Egyptian, English, Scottish, Turkish.
In almost every way you can divide it, I hated and oppressed myself. Rather fitting...
You work your life away and what do they give?
You're only killing yourself to live

Wow, Armenian/French with a Canada fetish. Mo, you grow more complicated in my eyes all the time.Mo Daviau wrote:Don't even get me started about Turks...
ARMENIAN 4 LIFE!
(insert mp3 of tinny electronic Armenian music here, plus a waving Armenian flag)
I still like Kareem, though.
