Casting Call for TV Pilot "The Farkles"
Posted: March 13, 2007

We are holding auditions for a brand new edgy family comedy called "The Farkles". There is a major star attached, though I cannot divulge who just yet. We'll be shooting in Austin at the end of May into the beginning of June. The first roles we'll be casting are:

Gloria Farkle: Age 30 - 36. Attractive. Funny. Energetic. Slightly neurotic, but with good intentions. Blonde preferred, but not required. Improv skills a plus. Gloria is the mother of the Farkle family. She is driven to see her children succeed. Is conscientious of her status.

Kassie Farkle: Age 12. Very athletic, tomboy. Strong personality. Opinionated. Over-confident. Funny. Improv skills a plus. Kassie is a star athlete, especially in softball. A bit of a bully.

Katelyn Farkle: Age 11. Talented (can sing and dance), but is humble. Mothering. Sweet. Cute. Funny and confident. Improv skills a plus. Aspiring actress. Is trying out for the lead in her middle school's play.

Ethan Farkle: Age 10. Looks like an artist. Quiet wisdom and leadership skills. Funny. Improv skills a plus. Ethan is a film prodigy, who brings a video camera and 2-man film crew everywhere he goes.

Reggie: Age 10. All-purpose film assistant. Loyal, devoted to Ethan. Bright. Red hair and freckles a plus. No acting experience required.

Manoj: Age 10. Ethan's sound man (boom operator). Happy-go-lucky. Bright. Technically capable. Loyal and devoted to Ethan. Indian or Asian a plus. No acting experience required.

Franklin Farkle: Age 60. Wealthy and weathered. Crotchety but likeable. Rough around the edges. No BS businessman. Funny. Improv skills a plus.

If interested, please send resumes and headshots if available to producer Charles Mulford. If you don't have a headshot, please send a regular photograph. Auditions will be by appointment only.

Makes sense.
I don't believe you're 30-36 either.

Yeah, they'd have to get someone 20-25 for that.

Oh! Right in the gut! Yeah, I'm sure they'd cast me as the "sassy grandma"
Course one of the pics I sent them was from DSI and might have made them think I was an insane refugee from "Solid Gold".

And I love you tremendously, and I know it wasn't a jabby jab for realz. But you are right about how people cast. It makes little to no sense to cast someone younger as if they are only trying to tell the rest of america that we are reallllllllly shitty looking.

They said I wasn't right for their "very specific look" either. Gee, I hope they find it!
