Online Calendar Listings

One of the action items we came out of the advertising meeting with was to cover our bases better with online calendar listings. We have a list of email addresses to send press releases to, but we don't really have a list of websites that you have to fill out a form to get listed on.

Please take a moment to list websites like this that you know of or hunt a new one down. Then list it here with a web link.

Where else can we go and fill out an online form to get on an events calendar?

Is there a way to make threads sticky in this forum so that they stay at the top of the list of threads? It seems like this would be a thread you would want to have easily accessible.

There is, but this information will all be gathered and hopefully put on a media resource html page off the forums that we can access on austinimprov.com.

I can't figure out how you get listed on CitySearch without paying, but the Hideout had the following nice review:

The Maestro Rules!
Posted by jchapa13 on 09/25/2006

The Hideout on Friday and Saturday nights hosts improv comedy. These guys are really funny and really know how to do improv. After going to one show you will be hooked. Seeing them perform in the small theater really gives you an intimate experience and almost puts you right in the action. If you are looking to get a lot of laughs in, go to the hideout and grab a bucket of beer. There are 3 shows nightly on Friday and Saturday that run at 8pm, 10pm and 11:30pm. Shows are $7 to $10 (pay what you can).

* Pros: Great comedy without the great price. The cafe has everything from lattes to Tecates.
* Cons: Downtown parking (what else is new?)
* Overall user rating: Highly Recommended
Is this one of us, or a genuine fan?

Someone posted the Friday Night schedule as being at "The Velveeta Room" on Austin360.com:

I emailed them and sent a message on the website, so hopefully something will get done about it.

Yelp also has a place for events that we use to promote our shows at The New Movement-

A lot of people refer to Yelp for just about everything these days, so it's always worth taking the time to promote events on there.

I'm unclear whether I'm hallucinating or what, but it appears http://calendar.austinimprov.com is now a microbrewery.
