Personal success

Post by deroosisonfire »

I am really proud of this:

http://www.springerlink.com/content/t0625284q60456mm/

It is my first publication, from work I did as an undergrad. I spent two summers working on that project and it is so rewarding to see it come to fruition.

What have you done outside of improv that you are proud of and would like to share with us?

That is so awesome!

I guess I'm most proud of being part of several textbooks:
Holt Earth Science
Holt Science Spectrrum

I am so proud of your publication. You keep discovering the knowledge and I'll keep spreading it!

I'm also proud of some private writing stuff, but I've yet to do anything with it.

Well, aside from the fierce pride I have in these little ones...

My cooking is to die for.
I've had poetry published.
I've received MA in applied behavioral science.
I've been in an amazing relationship for 13 years.

Good topic, Christina.

So far, the best compliment I've ever been given was that seeing me, or my troupe, perform inspired someone else to get into improv.

Congrats Christina!

I was told by two total strangers last night that my ukulele playing was more entertaining than Tenacious D and the best comedic music since Adam Sandler's first album.

My writing mentor inscribed this into my copy of her latest novel:

"The Star of my Smith Career, I will be first in line to buy YOUR novel, and have great faith in your talent."

I also married a super-sweet guy and am so proud to be part of GGG.

Yay!

Speaking of children, I am also proud that I tied with my brother in being voted "Best Uncle" in 2003.

I won a video game contest at blockbuster by getting the highest score in my age category on NBA JAM TE and Judge Dread for Sega. For this I won free game rentals for a year and got an awesomely shitty certificate with lots of hologram stickers on it.

8 years ago I was managing a restaurant here in town and was very unhappy with my job. I spoke to my boss and he told me a friend of his was starting up a "small internet company". I called him and set up an interview and was hired on the spot. I didn't know how to use a computer very well at the time so my first tasks were to file papers and get the boss coffee, bagels and sometimes lunch. I started doing tons of online tutorials in photoshop, web design and html. I taught myself how to design and build web pages and I'm still doing it 8 years later.

I also placed 3rd in a Halo tournament a while back. That was some pretty fucking stiff competition too.
