What did you want to be when you were little?
There were two things I remember wanting to be. One was a dancer. I told my mom at three that I was going to dance on the stage and make people happy. My ballet and modern lessons continued until college. I have no stats for how happy I've made anyone, but on a stage, I have indeed danced.
The other was a scientist. I went so far as to secure an area of our garage and create a lab. I had boxes and boxes of "samples" labeled and organized. I think I even had a lab coat and specific rules of play when friends came over.
I don't recall actually performing an actual science, but I had fun. Until chemistry class. I was better talking about the wonders of science than researching and understanding it. Which is probably why I wound up doing as much fundraising as I have for science based non-profits and state entities.

I had a rather odd childhood where everything interested me in some form or fashion. In the end, when someone asked me what I wanted to be, I said a Jack-of-all-Trades. Among my trades were dentist, doctor, teacher, pro wrestler, crypt keeper, fireman, director, author, artist, photographer, professional tree-climber, chef, and many more... No rules to these games, but when my skills needed testing that is what my brother was for.

First, I wanted to be a professional baseball player. For the California Angels.
Then, I wanted to be indian Jones or an archaeologist.
Then, thanks to Lee majors, I wanted to be a stuntman.

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

up until late high school, i wanted to be a spy. then i realized t's not like it was in the OSS anymore. In middle school I wanted to be a marketing researcher- I was really fascinated by the influence of color and shapes on purchasing decisions, and I wanted to write jingles. When I was younger I wanted to be a writer or an actress.

I always wanted to be an astronaut when I was growing up - spaceflight still captures my imagination and makes me smile.

astronaut or a writer or a paleontologist. One of these is probably not going to happen now.

When I was very little, a waitress or a dancer. I used to draw crude pictures of myself waiting tables.
Then later, mostly an artist. I wasn't sure of the different types at that time, I just knew I wanted to do good art. In addition, an actor, but one with modest, humble, and attainable goals.
I'm not really much of anything yet, not in the professional work sense...so I still feel like a lot is open to me.

When I was really young, I wanted to be a scientist ("because I can wear jeans under my lab coat and no one will know...")
In high school I wanted to be a special effects artist. I still geek out over that shit and know way too much about how movie effects used to be done.
Now I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

In the 7th grade I decided I wanted to invent artificial photosynthesis. I was also really into theoretical physics. That carried me to my Freshman year of college, where I had a close to full ride due to my interest in physics.
Then I realized I wasn't that great at math. But I really loved doing research, which drove me to a life of history.
