Phoenix Improv Festival

Post by arthursimone »

this is the one! The very very one we've all been talking about!!!!!

After a year doing festivals and hating a few and not being a person who likes travel and socializing, this is my very very very favorit-est. Seriously seriously, I'm not a love-on-the-sleeve person but the phoenix people make me into one.

I expect every single austin group to apply to this. seriously.

PIF 2007 Now Accepting Submissions

The 6th Annual Phoenix Improv Festival is coming May 11, 12, & 13 2007. If you are interested in bringing your troupe to one of the most "performer friendly" festivals in North America, please follow the submission criteria below:

1. Please send a 30-45 minute unedited recording of a "typical show" (not your "greatest show EVER" but a show that demonstrates the quality we can expect if you are invited to PIF). VHS, DVD and MiniDV accepted.

2. Include a check for $20.

3. With your recording and submission fee, send a completed copy of our Submission Form. To have one e-mailed to you, contact submissions@phoeniximprovfestival.com. An on-line document will also be made available soon.

4. Also include any press material related to your group.

5. Submission deadline is January 1, 2007.

6. If you have any questions, contact Mack Duncan at submissions@phoeniximprovfestival.com.

7. Submission materials should be mailed to this address:

they've apparently moved their deadline to the 20th because of holiday crazies. Same with the Twin Cities festival, if anyone's looking at that.

seriously folks, the Phoenix Festival is the mother of all fun. all fun ever! Everyone should apply. Everyone needs to apply.

I really wish more 1-2 year teams would attend these festivals because you will begin to see how good you really are! The caliber of AIC performers is way high, I want to see us represent everywhere.

Just heard from Phoenix. Their current deadline is the 10th. They'll try to look at applications submitted a little late, but no promises. So if you want in, get it in.

Now to take my own advice...
