Hey Austin! It’s release week!! Les, live comedy, live music, and Mangia Pizza, on Thurs. 11/30 at 7PM at BookPeople.

I’ll perform with special guests including Owen Egerton (Mr. Sinus Theater, Marshall Hollenzer is Driving), Scott Chester, members of National Comedy Theatre, a sneak preview of Stag, and some of the best comedy groups in town putting in short sets to honor the book release. There are other special guests confirming, it’ll totally be a hoot. No admission charge. Supermodel Ben Bartley will be available for signatures as well as me.

The Fox 7 news article by Mike Rosen was rescheduled for this Sunday (11/26) 9PM. Please watch or link to it here: http://www.myfoxaustin.com/myfox/.

I’m thrilled to announce that my books are on display at BookPeople front and center at the info desk and my name is spelled correctly on the marquee beside Jimmy Carter and Will Wynn’s names. My mom is beside herself with glee.

Then Tuesday 11/28, 7:30AM I’m on KLBJ-FM with Dudley and Bob. Thursday 11/30, 8AM I’ll be on KGSR in the Morning with Austin DJ Extraordinaire Bryan Beck. You can see upcoming dates at www.lesmcgehee.com

San Antonio appearances are coming together for December 18 and 19 events. I’ll be announcing book store appearances for those dates soon. If you want to help promote those or to bring me in to visit your group on one of those days let me know.

Thanks to everyone who bought one of the signed and discounted books that Dalton Publishing is selling. There are still some available (see the link below).

Forward my newsletter on to your own lists of friends and family. When everyone has the book it’ll be easy to play some games! Liven up the New Year! Or lighten up your co-workers. Some of them need it pretty badly don’t they?

Yer pal, Les
Les reports that there will be beer as well. This would be a great place to pass out some flyers.

Yes, let's do what we can to represent at this event!
Jeremy, perhaps a flyering mission can start here and end somewhere else?

is it kosher to in a sense crash this party with our own agenda and postcards. it might be a better call to look at this as networking / celebrating with others about the release, rather than an outward attempt to capitalize.
but then again, les may not give a hoot. i'm sure he understands the need for us to promote our shows.

i don't know. any other thoughts on this? we have to move fast if we're doing anything.

You're right, it may not be kosher. However, it kind of sucks that there is a big improv related event here that is not tied to the AIC in any way. Les' website lists National Comedy Theater as a recommended link on his website and they haven't performed since 2005.

I'm sure Les is cool with adding a link or giving us a shout out at the event but we need to get in touch with him first. Andy? Rachel? Jen? Les?

I'm sure les would be more than cool with that. And as long as it's classy, I don't think he would mind a few flyers here and there.

You could...ask him. Either ahead of time, or just before the event. It's 2 days away, right?

I got this in an email from Les:
I hope to have as many improvisers at my release as I can but especially ya'll. If you are there I will intro you and plug AIC and your shows briefly.
So I think he wants people to come a plug their shows and Austin Improv.
