Austin Improv

There will be a jam this week for those looking for a little pre-holiday improv action!

I want to work on realism and honesty in scenework. Not that I'm an expert, but I want to run some drills on monologuing and honest reactions. Anyone can bring anything they'd like to work on, too.
S. Farr, will you still be there helping out?

Same time as always: 7-10 at the Hideout upstairs.

Tell your students, friends, family, selves to be there!

We'll warm-up, do an hour to an hour-and-a-half on skills, then do a mock show. Sometimes drinking happens afterwards. It's fun for the whole family!

I'll be there. If for some reason Sara won't be able to make it... I've got your back. I'm going either way though, after all I can walk there from work! Yay!

I woke up with two ideas at 3 a.m. just for the jam that I want to try. Nothing revolutionary, but fun and purposeful I hope.

Yes, I was actually dreaming about exercises to play in improv, so sue me.

Best Jam ever. Well it was pretty good anyway. Special thanks to Wes for thinking up a theme for the jam. Realism is always an excellent skill stretch.

Had a blast!

Thank you to all the jammers that came out last night! We had 13-15 people and that place was abuzz with energy and hard work. I had an absolute blast. And special thanks to Orf, Sara, and Christina for helping out running various games and exercises as well.

Yay JAM! What a fun way for us to get to know peeps in the Austin Improv Collective. Play, play, play, and more play!!! Thanks to the experienced peeps who came and to Wes for bringing an agenda with exercises that helped us accomplish that agenda.

Note to self... Best Jams are those that have leaders who come with something prepared (which we may or may not use).

I LIKED the Chicken-Nuke thing and the focus on being changed in a REALISTIC way.
