FACT OF THE DAY: In 2009, X-Games snowboarder Kevin Pearce suffered a traumatic brain injury. Upon waking from a coma, Pearce developed a permanent obsession with making and eating pesto. This is believed to be a phenomenon called Gourmand syndrome, where injuries to a certain area of the brain cause sufferers to develop a love of high-end foods.
