FACT OF THE DAY: The Bank of Nook, the central bank in the Nintendo game Animal Crossing, slashed interest rates last wake to combat rising fraud within the game. The bank’s manager, a raccoon named Tom Nook, apologized for the inconvenience and offered players a doormat as an apology. Since the change, players have begun speculatively investing in turnips and tarantulas. I *think* this is not a joke.
