FACT OF THE DAY: According to Japanese astrology, 1966 was the year of the “fire horse,” considered to be an especially unlucky birth sign for anyone born that year. The superstition was so strong that Japan’s birth rate plummeted by almost a quarter (from 18 to 15 babies per thousand), only to immediately rebound in 1967. The year of the “fire horse” repeats in 2026.
